Asking for FIleMover right on Commons
Hello Anna, I am not very experienced on Commons, but I would like to have FileMover rights in order to fix gastropod file names that were either misidentified or the ones that are now incorrect because of taxonomic changes. Since you have the file mover right, I was wondering if you could put in a good word for me here. Many thanks, Invertzoo (talk) 12:58, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
- Done...with pleasure. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 15:45, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for the efforts on my behalf but I really don't mind waiting until I have a more impressive total of edits, even though I am already a "trusty" on here. I din't know I was supposed to have 1000 edits on Commons first. Thanks Anna, you're very kind. Invertzoo (talk) 21:29, 9 November 2011 (UTC)
- I tried a variety of tactics. Finally, I tried to humour them. They weren't amused. :) Oh well. My first request was rejected. Strange. It shouldn't be a big deal to be allowed to rename DSC_1234.jpg --> Bunny.jpg. Here at Wikipedia, a beginner can move whole articles. Anyway, sorry I couldn't help.
- By the way, that Shellnut is great, isn't he? A super-good name on the project list. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 00:36, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
Communication University of China
Hi Anna Frodesiak, thank you for your message on my talk page. I am a staff member of the Communication University of China. The word used in the official university name is 'Communication', not 'Communications', as the institution is mainly dedicated to higher education of journalism, media and cultural production, including media related technologies and sciences.
As for the page Communication University of China I edited, I will revise the content that I added. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 黄典林 (talk • contribs) 13:39, 8 November 2011 (UTC)
- Oh. Okay. Thanks for letting me know. Welcome again. If you need anything, just let me know. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 14:03, 8 November 2011 (UTC)

Tangle Nets
Wow Anna, you rocked the tangle nets big time! Sweet work on the article. I tried really hard to find a copyright free image for now, and after giving up I sketched a picture. Not too bad since it is small, hopefully it is acceptable until we can get a photo. Thanks for all your hard work!!!Shellnut (talk) 01:33, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
- A pleasure to help. Love the image. You are working on the article so I didn't add [[Coral reef#Zones|drop-off zone]]. You can put it in if you like. Cheers! :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 02:17, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
questions for my articles
hello Anna! it's my first time to write to u. i hope it wouldn't be disturbing. i don't know whether this message works, but i just wanna have a try.
when i logged in today, i felt very depressed. because the recent two articles of mine both met some troubles. i thought maybe u could help me or give me some suggestions.
i wrote an article about a famous kind of brocade from Nanjing. it is called Nanjing Yunjin. Yunjin is the Chinese name of brocade. i don't know why it has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. the reason is it does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant. i think it is so famous in Nanjing.
what's more. another article of mine is being discussed for deletion. i am confused why this cannot be included in Wikipedia.
i really hope u can help me.thank u! i am looking forward to receiving from u.
yours michelle

ceciliazcx
Hi, Sorry I have made some mistake in using wiki. This is a requirement from me teacher to add sth to one article. Also, it is my first time to use wiki as well. I have add something to the chinese cuisine again. Please feel free to share your opinion. In china, vegetable seasoning and so on is not considered as Staple food. Only the things made with rice wheat are considered is. I have revised several time, but someone has just revised it back. Should I revise it again? As a chinese, I know several part of this page is not exactly right but the common sense is just like this. SO I guess just leave it. ceciliazcx — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ceciliazcx (talk • contribs) 20:25, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
- Yes. You can look in the history to find what you'd added and write in your own words. We are not even allowed to slightly change a sentence from another website, and use it. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 22:17, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
Page Editting Question
Hello Anna, I edited the article 'Chinese Cuisine' yesterday, and I added a section called 'Medicine Cuisine'. I just read your message in my talk page, I have no idea what I should put in this section other than those descriptions copied from the referenced website, because the description is quite correct. Can you give me some suggestions on editing this?DanqingLiu (talk) 21:29, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
- Sure. You must use the facts from the source, and write in your own words. We are not even allowed to slightly change a sentence from another website, and use it. The whole thing must be rewritten. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 22:03, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
thx~

- You commented at Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion/Duck blood and vermicelli soup. You are very welcome to comment at the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Duck blood and vermicelli soup page.
- Nanjing yunjin brocade is not tagged for deletion, but it could use more references.
- Keep up the good work. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 22:52, 11 November 2011 (UTC)
More on "dynasty" vs. "Dynasty"
Hi Anna. I'm contacting all the editors who have commented on whether we should un-capitalize "dynasty" in wiki titles. I have just proposed a new and simple way to make a final decision on this issue. Could you go to this new section to say whether you support my proposal? Thank you! Cheers, Madalibi (talk) 01:29, 12 November 2011 (UTC)

I stumbled across your contribs today, and reading your User talk page made me very happy. Thanks for your very kind contributions to keeping Wikipedia a fun place to contribute. Philippe Beaudette, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 06:00, 13 November 2011 (UTC) |
- I am always happy if I've made somebody else happy. And with all the quarreling, I guess somebody has to keep it light. :) Thank you so much, my friend. :) :) :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 21:21, 13 November 2011 (UTC)
Working with a template
Hi Anna, Because you really know how to use your very excellent brain (!), I am asking you this: I am currently working on improving and expanding expanding a National Lampoon template and I am creating articles for the red links where the things are notable. Do you know, is there there a way I can divide the template so that there is one major part of it for all the productions of National Lampoon (magazine) dating from 1970 to 1998, and then a separate part of it for National Lampoon, Incorporated a modern company dating from 2002? The first part would contain radio, theatre, books, recordings and films, the second part would contain radio, recordings, and films (including direct-to-video).
If there is not a good way of doing this then it may end up that there have to be two templates, but we want to try having it all in one template first. I also asked Ganesh this same question. Thanks Anna, Invertzoo (talk) 22:46, 15 November 2011 (UTC)
- Is this what you mean?
