My Name is Brain Brian is a children's novel written by the author of the Pony Pals series, Jeanne Betancourt. First published in 1993, it is a contemporary story which focuses on studying and dyslexia.

Plot summary

Brian Toomey is one of the jokers in the Jokers Club along with Dan, John and Richie. All four of them hate to study. On the contrary, Isabel, a bright girl who has few friends, loves to study. Due to the Jokers and Isabel sharing different interests, they find themselves as enemies.

Later, Mr. Bigham, the class teacher, realizes Brian's intelligence and speaks to him and his parents. Mr. Bigham also tells them that Brain has dyslexia.

Brian and Isabel find that Brian is smart when they share the same animal, the Canada Goose. They both help each other out, despite their differences.
