Handjob is a term that describes the sexual stimulation of a partner's penis using the hands and fingers. The manual stimulation of a female partner's sex organs is not generally called a handjob.

Handjobs may or may not end in ejaculation or orgasm; they may be part of foreplay or part of or a precursor to other sexual activities, or may constitute the entire sexual encounter.

Handjobs, like other forms of sexual activity, may take the place of penetrative sex, or may provide sexual pleasure to a partner when penetrative intercourse is not possible or desirable.

For some males handjobs are very pleasurable, since little physical effort is required and they are not distracted by thrusting or the need to stimulate their partner. Also, since a partner's hands can produce a variety of sensations, a handjob can incorporate a large amount of stimulation and variety. As with other forms of sexual stimulation, the giving partner can also receive significant pleasure and sexual excitement from providing pleasure to their partner.

A handjob given at the end of a body massage is also known as a 'release' or a 'happy ending'.
