Regarding the trivia section tag. Baseball trivia, and sports trivia in general are different than trivia about other topics. Trivia is kind of a time honored part of being a fan. While I understand and appreciate the general stylistic considerations that ask that articles integrate trivia. This seems to me to be an unthinking application of the tag. On the other hand, I don't think it's impossible to integrate the material into the article, but I would just like the question asked as to whether this is an appropriate editorial position.Jabot the Scrob 23:03, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

1996 World Series

How many games did Posada play for them? I'm curious if he got credit for a ring, like how Chien-Ming Wang got credit for being on the 2009 Yankees. 161.185.151.150 (talk) 19:16, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Eight. Only fifteen plate appearances. You'll also notice that he did not play in the 1996 postseason, as he wasn't on the roster. Whether they gave him a physical ring or not for that sip of coffee, I don't know. – Muboshgu (talk) 02:13, 21 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Catcher

He's really not a catcher any more. I feel there is necessity to remove the word "catcher" from his bio. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.71.77.111 (talk) 21:42, 28 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Coming into today, he has played 1,573 games at catcher, 170 games as DH, and 39 games at first base. It's not even close. Calling him a first baseman or DH is not accurate in the context of his entire career. – Muboshgu (talk) 23:43, 28 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Recentism

In expanding this article to talk about the 2011 season, I did lead this article to recentism. In fairness, I have this on my short list of pages I want to work on to get to GA status. I want to improve the earlier sections of his career. Any help is appreciated. Until such time as the career section is better balanced, the tag should stay. – Muboshgu (talk) 02:09, 21 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Retirement

Jorge Posada retired. It's on his facebook. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.69.189.55 (talk) 01:18, 15 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Where do you see that? – Muboshgu (talk) 02:24, 15 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
