Antheia is linked with the road connecting Via Egnatia, the GR-2/E90 (Igoumenitsa - Kozani - Thessaloniki - Kavala - Alexandroupoli) and its nearby interchange which is the only between Alexandroupoli and the GR-51/E85 which is also to the east. Antheia was the seat of the municipality of Traianoupoli, and a municipal district within that municipality, together with the village Aristino. In 2001 its population was 862 for the village and 1,308 for the municipal district.

Location
Antheia is located south-southwest of Soufli and Orestiada, west of Turkey, 20 to 25 km east-northeast of Alexandroupoli, northeast of Athens and east of Thessaloniki.

History
After World War II and the Greek Civil War, many of its buildings were rebuilt. Electricity and automobiles arrived in the 1960s, it was linked with pavement in the late-20th century, television arrived in the 1980s. Internet and computers arrived in the late-1990s.

Antheia has a school, a gymnasium (secondary school), a church, and a square (plateia). Its nearest lyceum (middle school), are in Alexandroupoli.
