The SR engine is a 1.6 L, 1.8 L, or 2.0 L straight-4 piston engine from Nissan. It is an aluminum DOHC 4-valve design with optional variable valve timing. But the SR20VE has 5 valves. The engine was used in many small Nissan vehicles, including high-performance turbocharged variants. The SR is in the Tuning Scene due to its robustness much likes. The engine holds far over 200.000Km. Versions with turbos and laughing gas injection reached 480 hp!

SR18Di

The SR18Di is a 1.8 L (1838 cc) DOHC engine. It produces 110 hp (81 kW)

It is used in the following vehicles:

SR18DE

The SR18DE is a 1.8 L (1838 cc) DOHC engine. It produces 138 hp (102 kW)

It is used in the following vehicles:

SR20Di

The SR20Di is a 2.0 L (1998 cc) DOHC engine. It produces 116 hp (85 kW). Bore and stroke are 86mm and 86mm.

It is used in the following vehicles:

SR20De

The SR20De has a 4-Point-injection. First it produces 116 hp later 131 hp. It was used in the Nissan Primera P10/P11.

SR20DE

The 2.0 L (1998 cc) SR20DE produces 150 hp (104 kW) later only 140 hp. It was built from 1990 through 2002. Bore and stroke are both 86mm. It uses SEFI.

It is used in the following vehicles:

SR20DET

S13 SR20DET (custom yellow paint)

The SR20DET is a turbocharged version of the SR20DE, initially producing 202 hp (150 kW) in the S13, the second generation produced 220hp, and the final production Silvia the S15 produced 246 hp (183 kW).

It was produced by nissan in the following vehicles:

Several other Nissan Vehicles that didin't come with a SR20DET from the factory are commonly transplanted with this engine as a performance upgrade:

SR16VE

The 1.6 L SR16VE has Nissan's Neo VVL variable valve timing with lift control. It produces 170 hp (127 kW) and 119 ft.lbf (161 Nm).

It is used in the following vehicles:

SR16VE N1

This version was used in the limited production Nissan Pulsar VZ-R N1 and Pulsar VZ-R N1 SSS from 97-98 and made 197hp @ 7800rpm and 134lb torque @ 7600rpm from the 1.6L SR. It has the highest litre achievement (123 hp/L). More than the Honda F20C engine. Although this car was limited in production(only 500 or so models are rumored to have been made).

SR20VE

The 2.0 L SR20VE has Nissan's Neo VVL variable valve timing with lift control. It produces 187 hp (139 kW) and 144 ft.lbf (195 Nm). Used in:

SR20VET

The 2,0 L (1998 cc) SR20VET was the first turbocharged engine from Nissan with variable timing and lift control. It produces 280 hp (206 kW) @ 6400rpm and 309 nm @ 3200rpm.

It is used in the following vehicles:
