Template:Future tvshow Gameshow Marathon (or Game$how Marathon) is an upcoming series that will debut on CBS in 2006. The series is being produced by FremantleMedia North America and Granada America. The series is based on Ant and Dec's Gameshow Marathon, which aired in 2005 on UK's ITV as part of the network's 50th anniversary.

Premise

Gameshow Marathon will be a seven-episode game show tournament featuring celebrity contestants Leslie Nielsen, Tim Meadows, Lance Bass, Kathy Najimy, Paige Davis, and Brande Roderick. The celebrities will play The Price Is Right, Let's Make A Deal, Beat The Clock, Press Your Luck, Card Sharks, Match Game and Family Feud. Ricki Lake will host the series and will act as emcee for all seven programs during the run. Betty White and George Foreman will be among the panelists on the Match Game episode, while Rich Fields, TPIR's announcer, is to announce all seven episodes of this series. "Barker's Beauties" from TPIR will also play a role in some of the other shows.

Formats

The formats of each individual shows will be largely unchanged, though certain small modifications will be made due to time issues (most of these shows were 30 minutes long, but each Gameshow Marathon episode will be 60 minutes in duration) and in order to conform with the overall game format of Gameshow Marathon.

The game show pedigree of the production staff indicates the seriousness with which the network is taking the subject of game shows. From Weakest Link comes the show's Executive Producer Stuart Krasnow; Director Brian DiPirro worked on Card Sharks, Beat The Geeks and Deal Or No Deal; and Writers Ann Slichter and Aaron Solomon penned questions for Weakest Link, Family Feud and Whammy! The All New Press Your Luck.
