Kumertau (Template:Lang-ru; Template:Lang-ba) is a town in the Republic of Bashkortostan, Russia, located 250 kilometers (160 mi) from Ufa and 102 kilometers (63 mi) from Sterlitamak. Population: 65,003 (2002 Census);[5] 64,260 (1989 Soviet census).[6]

Ethnic composition: Russians: 61.6%; Bashkirs: 16.4%; Tatars: 12.9%; Chuvash people: 4%; others: 5.1%.[citation needed]
