Naming
Shouldn't this be the Dover Strait and not Strait of Dover Frelke 11:24, 18 September 2005 (UTC)
- Possibly - which is most common? Refs from within WP tend toward "Strait of Dover" it seems, the redir is little-used. Stan 13:09, 18 September 2005 (UTC)
- UK Coastguard calls it Dover Strait. I have just added an External Links section with an appropriate link. As an ex-mariner, I don't find Strait(s) of .. as natural as Dover Strait(s). My gut instinct is that mariners use the latter and landlubbers the former. Google seems to confirm that.
- I would always side with the mariners <g> Frelke 15:45, 18 September 2005 (UTC)
