Tucker Nichols (born May 14, 1970) is an American artist. His artwork includes drawings, paintings, sculptures, and large scale works on walls and storefront windows. He has a BA from Brown University and an MA from Yale University, both in the history of Chinese Painting. He lives near San Francisco.

Projects

Nichols has had solo shows at ZieherSmith Gallery in New York and Gallery 16 in San Francisco, and the Kunstpanorama in Luzern. His work has been featured at the Drawing Center and John Connelly Presents in New York, the 2010 California Biennial at the Orange County Museum of Art, and the Den Frie Museum in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Nichols' drawings have been published in McSweeney's, J&L Books, The Thing, Nieves Books and the Op-Ed pages of The New York Times. His book Postcards From Vermont was published by Expanding Color System in 2006. In 2009, More Things Like This was published by Chronicle Books. Nichols founded Anonymous Postcard in 2008 with help from Dakin Hart.

Nichols has done on-site commissions for the de Young Museum in San Francisco, Bravo Television, fuseproject, Aliph, Yahoo! and the San Francisco Arts Commission. Additional residencies include the Acadia Summer Arts Program in Acadia, ME and the Project Space at Headlands Center for the Arts in Marin, CA.
