1349 is a black metal band hailing from Oslo, Norway. The group was formed in 1997 when the band Alvheim broke up and several members sought to create a new black metal band. 1349 has received an unusual amount of attention due to the membership of the well-known black metal drummer Frost of Satyricon. The name 1349 was chosen by the band because it is the year the black death was spread to Norway. The band played at Poland's Metalmania festival in 2006.
