Plot

A father and son crash land on Earth, one thousand years after it has been abandoned by mankind. The father is injured in the crash, and it is up to his son to find aid.

Production

Principal photography on After Earth is slated to get underway by February 2012. Gaghan was reportedly “tasked with getting the [film's] script in shooting shape… and may continue to work with Shyamalan to fine-tune the current draft” before production on the project officially gets going. Previously After Earth titled as One Thousand A.E.
