Teyler's Museum

This building is the seat of the Teylers Stichting and is in fact notable on its own. It is only connected to the museum through the oval room, which as a the earliest museum showcase, is also notable on its own. Jane (talk) 22:29, 26 January 2012 (UTC)

I disagree, the Fundatiehuis is one of the entrances to the museum. It is only notable in the context of the museum or of the Teyler's Foundation, and should therefore be discussed in those articles. – Editør (talk) 12:17, 27 January 2012 (UTC)

OK I see your point about the entrances, but I still must disagree, since this entrance is in fact never open to the public anymore (since the 19th century). It is not a part of the museum at all. The situation is actually the other way around; the Teyler Stichting owns the fundatiehuis and the museum, and they actually built the oval room later and expanded much later again with a physics laboratory, both of which now constitute the museum. Since the museum has been put up for UNESCO status, I assume you won't argue that it is notable in itself. You can't merge the fundatiehuis to the museum page because it is a different building that is not owned by the museum. You can not enter the Fundatiehuis except by appointment and on the front door it states that to see the museum you must enter through the other entrance on the Spaarne. The rijksmonument status of the fundatiehuis is top national status, which means it is notable enough. I am removing the merge tag, since that is just silly. Jane (talk) 16:21, 27 January 2012 (UTC)
