The discography of Ayumi Hamasaki, a Japanese singer, consists of thirteen original studio albums,[note 1] fifty singles,[note 2] five compilation albums, nineteen remix albums, eighteen concert DVDs, and four box sets.
Hamasaki released her first album, Nothing from Nothing (1995), on Nippon Columbia. However, the album did not chart on the Oricon, and the label dropped her. Hamasaki later signed on to Avex Trax; she released a string of singles in 1998 followed by her first album under Avex, A Song for ××, in 1999. To date, Hamasaki has sold, more than 52 million records in Japan alone, and is one of Japan's best-selling musicians. According to the Oricon, she is the 3rd best selling Japanese artist of all time.[1]
