Tony Curtis (born February 11, 1983 in Fort Lewis, Washington) is an American football tight end who is currently a free agent. He was signed by the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2005. He played college football at Portland State.
Curtis has also been a member of the Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco 49ers and Washington Redskins.
Early years
Curtis graduated from Seaside High School in Seaside, California where he excelled in football and basketball. He then went on to play Junior College for Fresno City College under Coach Tony Caviglia where he earned a Division I scholar ship to Portland State.
Professional career
Dallas Cowboys
Curtis was signed as an undrafted free agent following the 2005 NFL Draft. In a Monday Night Football game against the Buffalo Bills on October 8, 2007, Curtis recovered an onside kick with 18 seconds remaining to help set up Nick Folk's 53-yard game-winning field goal, giving the Cowboys a 25-24 win. In the 2007 NFL season, Curtis had three catches, all of which went for touchdowns.
In the 2008 offseason, Curtis was re-signed as an exclusive-rights free agent.
Kansas City Chiefs
Curtis was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs on April 24, 2009. He was waived on August 4.
Philadelphia Eagles
Curtis signed with the Philadelphia Eagles on August 25, 2009. He was waived on September 8.
Baltimore Ravens
Curtis signed with the Baltimore Ravens on September 22, 2009. He was released on October 13, to make room for wide receiver David Tyree.
San Francisco 49ers
Curtis was signed by the San Francisco 49ers on February 4, 2010. He was released September 3.
Washington Redskins
On August 16, 2011, he signed with the Washington Redskins. He was released by the team on September 3, 2011.[1]
