Biography
Quiray was born in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Philippines. She took up Bachelor of Science in Architecture[1] at the Department of Architectural Design, Palawan State University.[2]
Miss Philippines Earth 2011
Quiray represented the City of Puerto Princesa at Miss Philippines Earth 2011 and won Miss Philippines Air 2011. She also won the Best in Swimsuit and Best in Cocktail Wear in subsidiary contests.[1][3] Along with her fellow winners of Miss Philippines-Earth 2011, they made a courtesy visit with the President of the Philippines President Benigno Aquino III at the Malacañang Palace to show their support for the government’s intensified campaign to promote Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park.
Miss ASEAN TV Charm 2010
Quiray made history when she was crowned as the first ever Miss ASEAN TV Charm winner, besting 16 candidates from other Southeast Asian nations held from March 17-22, 2008 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. She also won the "Best in Ao Dai Costume" competition, a traditional Vietnamese long dress for women.
The event was meant to promote solidarity and friendship among Association of Southeast Asian Nations member countries where Vietnam, where the contest was held, assumed chairmanship of the ASEAN in 2008 and hosted series of summit meetings among the region's leaders.[4]
Mutya ng Pilipinas 2008
Quiray participated in the national beauty pageant Mutya ng Pilipinas and received the grand title Mutya ng Pilipinas International 2008 which was held on December 7, 2008 at the City Coliseum in Puerto Princesa, Palawan. She was Mutya ng Palawan 2005. Jonavie is the first Palaweños who has won a major title in a national beauty pageant.[5][6]
