The Original Doll is the working title of Britney Spears' fifth studio album, due out sometime in 2006. Britney is quoted as saying she would like to write the album "pretty much on my own". Also, she has said in interviews that she has rediscovered her voice, while singing to her baby, and would like to show people she can really sing. She has said that Jive held her back from singing and doing music she wanted to do. She would like to do Blues and Jazz on her upcoming album which is rumored to come out sometime in November. She is however, teaming up with professional writers such as Cathy Dennis and Scott Storch. MTV has confirmed that rapper T-Pain has been asked to produce a few songs for the new album.[1] R&B artist Ne-Yo has also confirmed that he is teaming up with Britney to write some new songs for the album. Peter Biker and Karsten Delgado (Daahlgaard), otherwise known as SoulPower, are currently writing and producing tracks to be sumitted for Britney's fifth album. In addition to their own tracks, they are also going to be collaborating with Cathy Dennis ("Toxic," "Showdown") on potential tracks for the album. Additionally, Britney recently stated in an interview to E! that she is interested in working with Gwen Stefani, Lenny Kravitz, and Steven Tyler. Also, in the news there have been rumours that Britney will duet with her ex, Justin Timberlake, He stated that he would love to be a part of Britney's comeback.

Danilo, from the calendar company, have announced that there is to be an official calendar for 2007 (there was not one for 2006, as she was thought to have retired from the music business to start a family). This is a good sign for Britney fans, as the calendar is also confirmed to contain material from new promotional photo shoots, some of which is to be from the new album's artwork. Britney also says that she will get back to touring, but "gradually" as she is still having trouble from her knee which caused her to cancel the third leg of The Onyx Hotel Tour in 2004.
