"Bassline"
Song

Bassline is the lead single released by Reverend and the Makers off their third, as of yet unreleased album, @Reverend_Makers. It was released on 13 February 2012 and was featured during Reverend and the Makers' first concerts for two years ahead of their tour supporting Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds. The song was given away as a free download to fans, cementing McClure's place as one of the top musicians around for fan interaction.

Release

The track was given away as a free download on the band's official Facebook page. [1]

Recording

The band recorded the song during 2011. McClure stated that the song had been around for the entire two years that Reverend and The Makers were on hiatus, and at first he thought it was "too synthy" to be a Makers hit. [2] However, he went onto realise that it "sums up the album" and the direction that the band have gone in. It focuses less on the electro indie funk the band are renowned for, and focuses more on straight-up club anthems.
