== 4chan article violation ==

A big part of the internet and 4chan hates ponies and so they are not a meme, however people keep adding My Little Pony to the meme section, can I report there accounts anywhere?

Revision as of 10:53, 15 February 2012

Committed identity: 4B7A3914D1A8D304C711A9FCEBE4EA535E72AC5B is a RIPEMD-160 commitment to this user's real-life identity.
This user understands that the category of religion is an invention by European Christians which they falsely and inaccurately apply to the rest of the world, and that atheists who demand the elimination of religion from public affairs are acting out of extreme ignorance, if not outright disregard for other cultures.

Jeff Knaebel

Are you the same person as [1]? If not, you shouldn't have created the article Jeff Knaebel as if it was your work. If you are, however: what's the point of getting an article twice rejected at AfC and creating it anyway? It looks like a non-notable person who got some attention because of WP:BLP1E and nothing else. User:Fram 12:54, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I guess that's the guy who sent it to me asking me to make it, you can AFD it, I don't care Shii (tock) 13:03, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
OK. Fram (talk) 13:11, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to be coming to this a bit late, but would you consider undoing your close and relisting it instead? No one commented after I had cleaned it up, so we don't know if anyone else might see something worth saving there, and there's certainly no per se rule against "...in popular culture" articles and sections as long as they are substantive portrayals rather than mere mentions or allusions. Not a big deal if you don't agree with that option. Cheers, postdlf (talk) 23:01, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It still looks like an indiscriminate list to me; maybe I could userfy it for you, and you could simplify it into something that fits into the Shangri-la article? Shii (tock) 10:58, 26 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings Shii. As someone who has devoted much time to Wikipedia, and the only user to defend "keep" at the above AfD, I find your closing comment, "'things that were given money by someone' is not grounds for inclusion ", frivolous, to say the least.

My claim - referenced - was that SIBIS was the "first large-scale cross-national survey" to approach the subject of the Information Society. Given the consensus against it, the fact that the article was deleted is no longer of consequence, but that sort of closing comment is not in keeping with Wikipedia, especially when coming from an admin. All of us have probably made similar off-the-cuff remarks when dealing with vandalism, hoaxes, etc., but surely an AfD requires a higher level formality. That said, if the article was about a mere project receiving funds from someone, I would have been the first to AfD it. Regs., --Technopat (talk) 12:00, 29 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Shii - I had placed my objection on an article on Marwat in the listing on 11th November 2011. The entire article (excluding vanity entries of notable people's names) has been word to word copied from http://www.khyber.org/pashtoplaces/lakkimarwat2.shtm and was reported earlier on as well but no action was taken. Please look into this blatant plagiarism which has gone to the extent that even sources have been copied ditto. I hope a prompt action in deletion of this material as per Wikipedia's policy. --Arbab Shahinshah (talk) 05:02, 15 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for pointing out this very important copyright violation. Shii (tock) 11:59, 15 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for such a prompt reply and action. You are the best. However, let me point it out to you that probably the duplication indicator might not do justice while comparing the original source and the plagiarized stuff. In reality entire content has been copied except some minor absurd insertion in the beginning and you may find the same if you would only take a minute and walk through both of these articles. This plagiarism was also reported and objected by the owner of the website www.khyber.org himself and his edit could be seen in the edit history of the copied article on January 5, 2009 under the user name Omerkh. Many thanks. --Arbab Shahinshah (talk) 06:05, 17 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

RSN info

In case you haven't seen it you many want to look at WP:RSN.Marauder40 (talk) 21:53, 23 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The above AfD has been nulled due to sockpuppet-related issues. You're welcome to comment at the new one - Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Srivatsa Ramaswami (2nd nomination). Cheers, m.o.p 06:05, 9 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

List of films considered the worst

Really? You think Hollywood is the only place that makes films? I restored the globalize tag. Please do not remove it again. Your comment at the removal of the tag was clearly made in ignorance.--Scottandrewhutchins (talk) 13:40, 11 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
