Is this you?
Hello there, thanks for participating in editing List of tallest buildings in the world. Is this IP Special:Contributions/114.229.252.36 also you? You seem to be making the same edits and come from the same IP range. I hope you would register an account so that we can have a coherent discussion about the article's content. - [1] Everyone? The article country does not seem to agree. Deryck C. 21:53, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
Your recent editing history at List of tallest buildings in the world shows that you are in danger of breaking the three-revert rule, or that you may have already broken it. An editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Breaking the three-revert rule often leads to a block.
If you wish to avoid being blocked, instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to discuss the changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. You may still be blocked for edit warring even if you do not exceed the technical limit of the three-revert rule if your behavior indicates that you intend to continue to revert repeatedly.
- The reason the user Deryck Chan is bringing this to issue is that Hong Kong by itself is not a country. If you look at the list of buildings the category specifically states "Country" and each other building is listed under it's parent country and not for example "Houston, Texas" which would be equivalent to "Hong Kong" by itself which is just a Special Administrative Region of China. The category listing specifically states "Country" and following the convention of the other countries listed, Hong Kong should be listed under it's parent country of China. Although listing it as Hong Kong, China would also be acceptable. 114.229.251.187 (talk) 21:58, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
- No, the reason I took it to the noticeboard is that you (or someone with the IP 114.229.252.36 if that really isn't you) are rather insistent on the addition, and have exceeded WP:3RR. For starters, the list did not have "China" behind "Hong Kong" before you started the edit war. Also, the dispute resolution noticeboard is not an appropriate place to discuss the issue, please do so on the article's talk page instead. Deryck C. 22:02, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
Hong Kong is a Special Administrative Region of China, it is NOT a country and as such it must be listed under it's parent country in the list of countries on this article. Thanks! 114.229.251.187 (talk) 22:05, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
- I disagree. With all due respect country isn't necessarily defined as such, and Hong Kong is often listed as a separate country on international bodies for the sake of disambiguation because of separate jurisdiction, customs and border. Anyway I've requested third-party input to look at the issue. Deryck C. 22:07, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
- That is just your personal opinion, here on Wikipedia we are concerned with accurate facts. If we are to follow your strange form of logic, then would buildings located in Houston be labeled under your thinking as Houston or maybe Houston, Texas all of which would be inaccurate. The buildings located in Houston are all labeled under the country category as being in the United States. And as such Hong Kong is a Special Administrative Region of China, not a country by itself. Thanks! 114.229.251.187 (talk) 22:19, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
- As JohnBlackburne also stated, the link to Hong Kong will give them the detail they need, should they ever be confused. Deryck C. 22:24, 15 February 2012 (UTC)

- Unfortunately that is not sufficient, as stated before the category is country and Hong Kong is the only the city on this article that is being mislabeled as a "Country" when it should be properly labeled under Hong Kong's parent country of China. 114.229.251.187 (talk) 22:29, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
- I guess we simply have to disagree on what a country should entail. Anyway you also need to convince the numerous other editors who reverted your edit if you insist on adding China after all instance of Hong Kong. Deryck C. 22:35, 15 February 2012 (UTC)

- Actually the definition of a country is firmly set, it is you that is trying to play around with semantics and warp the word "country" to fit Hong Kong when in reality, as stated multiple times before, is just a regional territory, a Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China (PRC). All articles are being improved to make sure they are as accurate as possible and it is not accurate to label Hong Kong as a country despite the fact that it has autonomous privileges granted to them by their parent country of the People's Republic of China. The category in this article specifically states "Country" and Hong Kong is just a city within the country of China, indisputable. Thanks! 114.229.251.187 (talk) 22:42, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
- Wikipedia is a work built on WP:consensus, not sweeping claims of "truth" as individual editors see it. We are all entitled to our own opinion on what truth is, but that doesn't mean we can push other editors who disagree out of the way. See Wikipedia:Truth. Deryck C. 22:53, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, the consensus is that Hong Kong is NOT a country and only a Special Administrative Region of China. You are the one pushing your personal opinions and illogical fantasy that Hong Kong is somehow a "Country." You just keep dreaming because that is not reality and will never happen. Hong Kong will always just be a territory and city of the country of China. Face the true facts! You might as well go read the article about Hong Kong here and educate yourself about it's true status as a Special Administrative Region of China. 114.229.251.187 (talk) 22:58, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
- The article on Hong Kong? I wrote it (along with many other dedicated editors). Practise what you preach and face the true facts before you make personal attacks. Deryck C. 23:04, 15 February 2012 (UTC)

, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Ks0stm (T•C•G•E) 22:17, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
