Concept map of Newark-Elizabeth Rail Link, based on preliminary NJ Transit reports. The green line is MOS-1, the blue line is MOS-2, and the red line is MOS-3. Station names and locations may change.

The Newark-Elizabeth Rail Link is a proposed 8.8 mile-long light rail line in New Jersey, which will eventually connect the downtown areas of Newark and Elizabeth with the Newark Liberty International Airport. The construction of the project is being advanced in stages, or "minimum operable segments" (MOS).

The first minimum operable segment (MOS-1), which is currently under construction and expected to open in the summer of 2006, will connect Broad Street Station and Penn Station in Newark. MOS-2 will connect Penn Station with a station near Lincoln Park, also in Newark. MOS-3 will join the two previous sections with Newark Airport and Elizabeth.

MOS-1 of the light rail line was estimated to cost $207.7 million and is expected to serve an average of 13,000 weekday riders by 2015. The entire project is estimated to cost $694 million (1995 dollars) and will carry an average of 24,900 weekday riders by 2015.
