Sport 5 (Template:Lang-he, Sport Hamesh), also known as the Sports Channel (Template:Lang-he, Arutz HaSport) is an Israeli television company. Available on cable (via HOT) and satellite (via yes), the company have seven channels which are devoted to sport.

Main and Subsidiary channels

Sport 5

In 1990, the channel first aired as the Sports Channel in channel 5, from where it have its name.

Sport +5

In 2001, the subscription fee based channel Sport +5 was created as Sport 5's first subsidiary channel with content such as (cut down international versions of) WWE Raw and WWE Friday Night SmackDown. Since then, Sport 5 has lost almost all of its notable content [1], though it is still used to show UEFA Champions League matches in tandem with +5 channel.

Sport +5 LIVE, Sport +5 GOLD

In March 2007, the company launched two new channels, +5 LIVE (for live sport) and +5 GOLD (repeats of classic sports action). The new channels followed with great criticism from viewers complaining about even more loss of content in favor of pay channels.

Sport i5

In August 2010, the company launched another new pay channel Sport i5, which shows the tables, fixtures and scores in sport which you can control using the remote control.

Sport 5 HD

On December 23, 2007, Sport 5 launched a sixth channel – Sport 5 HD. The channel, available then only to yes HD subscribers, aired UEFA Champions League, the NBA Playoff games and Wimbledon tournament.

In addition to current content, the channel also broadcast games from the 2008 Summer Olympics. Also, it was announced that starting next season the channel will introduce formula 1 racing.

Today Sport 5 HD is available for both yes HD and HOT HD customers.

Sport 5 3D

In 2011, Sport 5 launched their seventh channel – Sport 5 3D. The channel, broadcast matches in 3D.
