"Someday (I Will Understand)" is the first single from Pop singer Britney Spears originally released from the EP Britney and Kevin: Chaotic during the third quarter of 2005, though the song was later included in its remix form on the B in the Mix: The Remixes compilation.

"Someday" was written by Britney two weeks before she found she was pregnant with her first child, Sean Preston Federline. A piano ballad, the track was produced by Guy Sigsworth ("Everytime").

The music video for "Someday," which premiered on the U.S. first season finale of Britney's reality show Britney and Kevin: Chaotic, was also directed by Guy Sigsworth. Simplistic in its nature and the first of Spears' videos to be shot entirely in black-and-white, a pregnant Britney is found about her home and looking out onto her yard, which includes a statue of an angel and leaves falling from the trees.

Chart performance

When the video for "Someday" initally hit TRL's airwaves and online music outlets in June 2005, it was met with a positive response. However, before long, the song and its video dropped in popularity. Consequently, it's no wonder why the single never made an appearance on the charts in the U.S. seeing as "Someday" was only made available for legal downloading some three months after its accompanying video reached its peak of popularity.

No release date was set for "Someday" in major international markets such as the U.K. and Australia, though the single did receive airplay in areas of Asia, Oceania and continental Europe, including Austria and Switzerland. The video was a hit on Mtv Brazil reaching number 1 on the Top 20, similar to TRL in Brazil.
