This here is the user page for Maclure. Maclure is a variant spelling of the surname McClure which is a sept of the Clan MacLeod of Harris group of Scottish clans. Our family shield is a white background with a blood stained dagger. Famous McClures include Troy McClure (Simpsons character), and Doug McClure (old time actor). Maclure's with my spelling are thin on the ground, but some marginally well known ones are Andy Maclure (former "Sleeperbloke" drummer with Brit-pop band Sleeper) and Stuart Maclure (my Great Uncle and former Times Educational Supplement editor) as well as the Scottish folk singer Pinkie Maclure.

I live in York, England, and am married to Rachel from Recife, Brazil. I work with International Students at St. Michael le Belfrey church.

My interests (and therefore the areas which I tend to read about, contribute articles or ammendments to include, in no particular order): Africa Inland Mission, Archbishop John Sentamu, St. Andrews School, Turi, Christianity, St. Michael le Belfrey, Nwankwo Kanu, Arsenal F.C., R.E.M. (band), Johnny Cash, Engrish, John Stott, John Paul Lederach

I was born in Columbia, South Carolina, and I have been fortunate to live in or visit a number countries. These include: Barbados, Brazil, Canada, Kenya, Sudan, Chad, Ethiopia, Israel, Finland, Estonia, France, Portugal, Luxembourg, USA and of course the UK. I have sat in the airports of Denmark, Iceland, Cameroon, Italy and Holland. Seeing the world is something I enjoy doing and I hope to one day visit: China, Japan, Turkey, Cyprus, Lebanon and New Zealand.
