The handsomest and most peacock-like member of genus Polyplectron, the Palawan Peacock Pheasant, also known as Napoleon Peacock Pheasant is a medium size bird with erectile crest and highly iridescence metallic green and black feathers. Its tail are decorated with large blue-green ocellus, which may be spread fan-like in display.
This shy and elusive bird inhabits and endemic to humid forests of Palawan island in the Philippines archipelago.
The Palawan Peacock Pheasant is vulnerable due to declining habitat and exploitation. It listed on Appendix I of CITES.
