Other ventures
YOU NEED TO ADD A OTHER VENTURES TO HER ARTICLE BECAUSE SHE HAS HAD THE Pink 4 FRIDAY LIPSTICK FROM MAC. and her NEW OPI NAIL COLLECTION AND IF YOU DONT NEED ANY REFERENCES BECUASE ITS ALL OVER THE NEWS. I hate how whoever did her article doesnt add more information her when she is just as important as Lady GaGa and Rihanna. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.88.13.255 (talk) 01:32, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
- Um, all over the news or not, references are always required (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 10:22, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
- Lol, judging by the shouting and the terrible grammar you must be a rap fan. Use of CAPS and not signing your posts is considered rude and to be 'dissin da wiki'.1812ahill (talk) 15:33, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
Other Ventures
It should be noted that she has released SIX different shades of nail polish through OPI and has released TWO different lipsticks with MAC. She is also trying to get into fashion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rapfan45 (talk • contribs) 04:50, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
- How is the number of shades relevant? (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 11:42, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
How is it not relevant?--74.179.215.67 (talk) 00:20, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
- Because the article is about Minaj, not her cosmetics line. Fantastic argument though - really helps to gain new WP:CONSENSUS (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 11:52, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
Personal Life
Is the following fact really needed? "In July 2011, Minaj's cousin Nicholas was murdered near his home in Brooklyn, New York City.[66]"? I find it to be non-relevant to her personal life. 98.235.252.188 (talk) 08:45, 1 February 2012 (UTC)
- Did it have an effect on her, her personality, her writing? (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 13:24, 1 February 2012 (UTC)
Musical style
- SHE NEEDS a musical style section !!! she has different syles shes pop/R&b/RAP and also ass her different accents every artist have one of these Nicki is a huge icon and even just her Wikipedia page will make people think of her that way and also change the picture to something more recent because that really doesnt represnt her style and image now.

Nicki minaj
Nicki was with young money back when lil wayne was releasing the Drought 3, In 2007. She appears on "cant stop, wont stop" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.28.195.34 (talk) 21:01, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
Minaj/ménage reference
Even in Nicki Minaj's earliest work, it is clear that the name "Minaj" is sexual innuendo—a pseudo-Hindi version of ménage based off her actual last name, Maraj. I think this is worth noting in the article as sexuality was a very important part of her image before she gained her current fame. Before all of today's rappers did their "have a ménage like Nick" punchlines, Nicki herself did them and it's clear that this was an important reflection of her act at the time; even a few more recent songs like "Lil Freak" and "Monster" have such jokes included. I cannot edit this article myself, but I do believe that this is of great significance as means of explaining her stage name. Mhavril39 (talk) 09:34, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
- With a valid reference to support the intent of her name to sound like this (which, as a French speaker, it is obvious), it becomes original research, and this not allowable. For example, Bruce Cockburn has nothing to do with a flaming penis (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 10:09, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

The Wikipedia page for Nicki Minaj has a mistake in it. Nicki was born in 1984 not 1982 as it is stated here Nicki's account on her Website so please fix that as soon as you can. Thanks! --Dylzaar (talk) 16:26, 7 March 2012 (UTC) Dylan Lee
- Please see the archives for this page for the long history. In short: an police report has been accepted by WP:CONSENSUS as showing her true DOB. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 17:02, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

I would like to change the picture for her main page to one of her from the 2011 Billboard Music Awards.

Edit request - 2004 WWE release
The article makes it sound like she wasn't really active until 2007, but in 2004, with The Hood$tars she did the vocals on Victoria's entrance music, "Don't Mess With," that was released on ThemeAddict: WWE The Music, Vol. 6. There, she was credited as Nicki Maraj. This is verified by an official press release at the time of the album's release: http://top40-charts.com/news.php?nid=11223. I think this is a pretty notable event that should be added, since it was a commercial release on a Top 40-reaching album a few years before she hit it "big." — Chad1m Email Talk Cont. 18:59, 11 March 2012 (UTC)

Her birth date in this is wrong, Nicki Minaj was born in 1984 and is 27, not 29 years old. Please fix this error

Other ventures
Please may you add an Other ventures section to Nicki Minaj's. I dont see why the person who controls this page is so petty and stubborn, you should also take other consideration being that your not the only one who goes on Nicki Minaj's Wikipedia. If you such a Nicki Minaj FAN/STAN than you WOULD KNOW she has OTHER VENTURES how many references do WE need to prove. It's been all over Tv,her Twitter account, and other places. She had a MAC Lipstick in November 2010 I believe called "Pink 4 Friday" which was sold out in 2 hours. Also she has her own nails with OPI "Its MAC,OPI, and a fragrance too, appareal I'm dominating in every avenue" - From Make Me Proud with Drake. And also her Viva Glam Lipstick with Ricky Martin. And this has alot to do with Nicki Minaj this is showing her as a businesswoman. Other rappers/singers have Other venture sections on their page so obviously it does apply to them. She also is the new face of Pepsi "Pop" on Forbes.com, and
She also shot a Pepsi commercial in Argentina. There is footage on Youtube. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.223.193.157 (talk) 03:40, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

It says in the article that Check It Out is her most successful single to date in Europe, but Starships just made it to the #3 spot in the UK, making Nicki Minaj the highest-charting female rapper on the UK charts. http://popcrush.com/nicki-minaj-u-k-record-starships/
Also, Superbass hit 4 million digital sales, making it the first song by a female rapper to reach that number. http://music.yahoo.com/blogs/chart-watch/week-ending-march-11-2012-songs-either-way-003340950.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thankmelater18 (talk • contribs) 04:50, 15 March 2012 (UTC)

"Previous nationalities or the country of birth"...
..."should not be mentioned in the opening sentence unless they are relevant to the subject's notability" according to WP:OPENPARAGRAPH. Whoever can edit this page, please remove "Trinidadian-born" from the opening sentence. She is an American musician and became notable as such. --Garik 11 (talk) 21:15, 25 March 2012 (UTC)
Nicki also collaborated with Madonna for another song from her album
Not just Give Me All Your Luvin' but also a track called "I Don't Give A". She revealed the track list less than a week before its released and so this information just arose now. I reckon it should be worth mentioning in this article and also since she's the only featured artist for that song not like GMAYL. Just a short sentence would be fine.
