Saw you removed a few link spams from the external link section of the Andhra Pradesh article. Even I am against the links, but added as a temporary place for "Wowtelugu.com" link while it is being debated. I have started a discussion on the worthiness of the link in the discussion page of the article, and I strongly believe that it should be deleted. The trouble is that even after repeated deletions, the link keeps getting added to the page (that too in the lead section), making the risk of an edit war. If you can also give your views on it, the consensus will be easier to arrive at. Thanks, -[[User:Ambuj.Saxena|Ambuj Saxena]] ([[User_talk:Ambuj.Saxena|talk]]) 08:18, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

How to make your watchlist easier to read

If you use Firefox, there is a user script you can install called Watchlist sorter.

This script sorts your watchlist by namespace, and adds spaces within each entry. This makes the watchlist much easier to read.

To install the script, copy/paste the following line into your your common.js page. This will install the script across all your skins.

importScript("User:The Transhumanist/WatchlistSorter.js");

Note: After saving, you have to Bypass your cache. To do this in Firefox, hold down the Shift key while clicking Reload (or press Ctrl+Shift+R). Or, you may have to {{purge}} the Wikipedia server cache.

To add this auto-updating template to your user page, use {{totd}}

India locator map

Hi! I'm working on a high resolution SVG image of India. I don't know how long it will take, but if we can get it up soon, we could have locator maps for each and every city that has a geographical coordinate listed. Since SVG images are XML based, all that is needed to be done is to run a script that adds a dot on a new layer according to the coordinates specified. Is it difficult to program such a script? Regards, =Nichalp «Talk»= 06:26, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've drawn the outline of India, but still have to add the states. Since it's a hi res image, it takes quite a lot of time to draw it. I hope to finish it over the next weekend. (15th). Regards, =Nichalp «Talk»= 06:02, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'll be working on the map over the following weekend. I've just got a rough outline, and the states need to be filled in. I suggest you get familiar with Inkscape to test the output. The map in question is a hi-res one and manually adding a grid would be very heavy on the file size. Inkscape allows a grid overlay for alignment etc. Regarding the locations vs coordinates, inkscape does have an X-Y cordinate system. We'd need to get the longitudes of the extreme points of India and map it to the pixel value by making a special cropped image for this purpose. It shouldn't be too difficult. Hello Ganeshk, the series ended two months ago and Yuvraj Singh was named man of the series? Or am I missing something and the two games in UAE have been added onto the series? Regards, Blnguyen | Have your say!!! 23:35, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

AWB question

Yes, to edit once every 15 seconds, you would need a bot flag to avoid flooding recent changes. Martin 07:47, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

about nakashi art...

Nakashi art did not evolve from warangal. While Cheriyal scroll paintings did. A form of Nakashi art was introduced by the mughals that has nothing to do with narrative scrolls: [1] then there is Pattachittra. --hydkat 09:28, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re:IRC

Yes, the problem has been showing up at my end as well. Now, the only possible solution to this remains is to try out mIRC or xchat. I think they will work out with the proxy settings and the software that I have mentioned on my IndianIRC page. You must try out these softwares without installing the proxy connections first, there might not be any need for the proxy connection. Then again, I believe it probably would require the proxy. You can download mIRC from here, [2]. Regards, --Andy123(talk) 12:15, 8 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

So, were you able to connect using Chatzilla? One user from Bangalore I know is able to connect without the proxy settings. Just use the proxy settings and the software to get connected to freenode.org --Andy123(talk) 09:53, 10 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

VandalProof 1.1 is Now Available For Download

Happy Easter to all of you, and I hope that this version may fix your current problems and perhaps provide you with a few useful new tools. You can download version 1.1 at User:AmiDaniel/VandalProof. Let me warn you, however, to please be extremely careful when using the new Rollback All Contributions feature, as, aside from the excessive server lag it would cause if everyone began using it at once, it could seriously aggitate several editors to have their contributions reverted. If you would like to experiment with it, though, I'd be more than happy to use my many sockpuppets to create some "vandalism" for you to revert. If you have any problems downloading, installing, or otherwise, please tell me about them at User:AmiDaniel/VP/Bugs and I will do my best to help you. Thanks.
