The 2012 Esso Cup will be Canada's fourth annual national women's midget hockey championship. Following its annual general meeting in May 2011, Hockey Canada announced that the tournament will be played April 22-28, 2012 at the McLoughlan Arena on the University of Prince Edward Island campus in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.[1]
Details
The tournament will feature the host team, the Capital District Cyclones, and five regional representatives to be determined through playdowns. The six teams will play a 15-game round robin, with the top four teams qualifying for the semi-final games, which will determine who will play in the bronze medal game and gold medal games. Coverage of all tournament games will be streamed online at fasthockey.com. The gold medal game will be televised nationally on TSN and RDS.[1]
