Romain Amalfitano (born 27th of August 1989 in Nice) is a French footballer who plays for English club Newcastle United FC in the English Premier League . He plays as an attacking midfielder and is the younger brother of Morgan Amalfitano who currently plays for Marseille.[1] The younger Amalfitano previously played for Châteauroux, Evian and Reims before joining his current club, Newcastle United on a five-year contract.[2]
Amalfitano agreed to join Newcastle at the end of the current season for a fee believed to be in the region of £1.1 million. He was quoted as saying: " I am very pleased to be joining such a prestigious club as Newcastle, and i can't wait to wear the black and white stripes and of course, meet the silver fox that is, Sexy Pards ." " I have spoken with Yohan Cabaye about the fans and he told me they were fantastic. He spoke on how they let their wives spend the night with Coloccini, that is something that interests me greatly about joining the club."
