A VH1 series on influential albums that aired in 2002. The channel only produced one season of the series, which aired between March 10, 2002 and August 3, 2003. Of the 19 episodes announced for the first season only 15 episodes eventually aired. No explanation was offered for the cancellations.

In the USA the alternate title “VH1’s Ultimate Albums” was used for the series.

Episodes:

Albums covered in the series It's interesting to note that the series covers what it terms "ultimate" albums. Perhaps not to conflict with the existing series Classic Albums, this rather non-specific term was used for the title of the series. Judging from the 19 albums announced for the first series, an ultimate album seems to be a bestseller. It's also of note, that between the 58 albums covered between the 56 episodes of Classic Albums and Ultimate albums there are only two albums that are covered in both series: Metallica's Black Album and Meat Loaf's Bat Out of Hell.
