The town of Leninogorsk serves as the administrative center of the district, although it is not administratively a part of it and is incorporated separately as a town of republic significance.[2] Municipally, however, Leninogorsk is incorporated within Leninogorsky Municipal District as Leninogorsk Urban Settlement.[4]
