Elizabeth Cobb Middle School is a public middle school in Tallahassee, Florida. It is the oldest public middle school in the city. The school completed construction in 1954, originally consisting of only 6 classrooms and hosting only the seventh grade. A gymnasium was constructed in 1965, and a graphic arts building and a new classroom wing were added in 1977 and 1985, respectively. Two more wings were added in 1992 and 2008.[1] As of 2008, there were 798 students enrolled.[2]
The school's mascot is the Cub, and the school colors are Purple and White.
Cobb is notable for its science and mathematics magnet program. Cobb has also won local, state, and national awards in the arts.[3]

School Performance
Cobb Middle School has earned an "A" as its school grade every year since 2007 or earlier. The other Leon County middle schools that have earned straight As for the past four years are Deerlake, Raa, and Swift Creek.[4]
Magnet Program
Cobb Middle School is a science and technology magnet school and has earned grants for implementing technology such as smartboards in the classroom. The curriculum includes opportunities for advanced classes and high school credit hours in science, math, language arts, foreign languages, and the performing arts.[5]
