I don't know about vandalism but how do you make a page on wikipedia and how do you protect the page you make? I don't know

if this, you need to be an Administrator for this because i'm not a Administrator.

Hello and welcome to the talk page! This is where you may leave good messages to me.

This is the tip of the day:

What writing style to use

Wikipedia articles are composed and formatted according to the Manual of Style (MOS). MOS sets the house standard on Wikipedia for attributes like link formatting, capitalization, punctuation, and sections. MOS includes guidelines for biographies, citations, titles, dates and numbers, proper names, and many other stylistic details.

Some examples of the elements of style in the MOS are:

To place the MOS template at the right on your User page for easy reference, edit your User page and copy/paste: {{style}} (including the curly braces).

Please follow the MOS guidelines when you update an article.

To add this auto-updating template to your user page, use {{totd}}

I dislike fragmented discussions. If you leave a comment for me here, I will respond to it here, my talk page, in an effort to keep the entire conversation in one place. There is a question at the Teahouse you might have interest in...

Teahouse logo
Dear Jedd Raynier, I just asked a question at the Teahouse that you might have interest in! I hope you'll stop by and participate! Sarah (talk) 01:30, 21 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

For future reference

It's best not to edit other users comments except in extreme circumstances. Spelling mistakes and so on should be left alone, they may be intentional. You can get yourself in a lot of trouble by fiddling with other user's comments... WormTT · (talk) 13:08, 21 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry! I thought I can edit another's post. I intentionally made that since the word "wikipedia" isn't capitalized. That will, as usual, serve as a lesson. Thank you for reminding me! Jedd Raynier (talk) 13:12, 21 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Quite alright, it's not worth making a fuss over, but some editors get very upset about it - so it's against policy. Everything's a learning experience, isn't it! WormTT · (talk) 13:16, 21 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

My RFA

Hi, I just wanted to leave a note saying thank you for partcipating in my RFA, and your comments will be taken on board and acted upon. Hopfully, I will be of a level you can support in a future RFA. MrLittleIrish (talk) © 13:08, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I m preparing a 5 step programme to see that you get complete knowledge of wikipedia. You'll be a perfect editor in the end. It is just for the editors who I have adopted. If you pass it (it'll last for 2 weeks), you'll get 5 barnstars in all!

So, this is the 1st assignment: User:Yasht101/Adoption1 I'll be watching your work. You've to complete it in 2 days so hurry up. Once you are done with it, please leave a message on my talk page. And i'll award you a barnstar. Yasht101 17:03, 8 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

PS: Be sure that you have WP:TWINKLE installed. Yasht101 17:06, 8 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Adoption

I have retired from wiki so wont be able to help you out. There is another user who is best in this bussiness, User:Bmusician. You can ask him to adopt you or be on your own. He teaches very nicely and better then me. Hope you don't mind. Yasht101 05:02, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Vandalism" in Wärtsilä

You reverted some changes you called "vandalism" in the article Wärtsilä. The content removed was added by the same IP user not much earlier (and was clumsy, more or less lacking substance). I would hope people here at English Wikipedia were more careful about what they call vandalism (in my home wiki we do distinguish between vandalism, random idle edits, test edits and well intentioned but detrimental edits). --LPfi (talk) 07:18, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I thought it is vandalism. By the way, I am doing a task by my adoptor (who is planning to retire) which is about cleaning vandalism. Would you help me where pages which have just been vandalized are? Jedd Raynier (talk) (contributions) 10:10, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Jedd Raynier. I just thought I'd drop you a note about vandalism, which is a very charged word here on the encyclopedia. Vandalism is any edit which is intentionally designed to make the encyclopedia worse. The important word there is "intentional", so edits which are just "wrong" do not consitute vandalism. If you cannot be certain of the intent, then you should assume good faith that it is not vandalism. The edit above is unlikely to be vandalism. As for your question - there's no "list" of pages which have just been vandalised, the concept seems strange, if we could identify vandalism that easily to make a list, why would we need the list, we'd just revert them all. What we do have is Special:RecentChanges, which lists all recent changes on the encyclopedia. That includes a lot of vandalism, but make sure you are sure it's vandalism before reverting! (You can revert if it's wrong too, just explain why and don't call it vandalism. Twinkle has the "Revert good faith" button for this) WormTT · (talk) 10:20, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Adoption

Hello Jedd Raynier! I see that your adopter, User:Yasht101, has retired, and that is terrible, but no worries! He has asked me to take over and I am willing to be your new adopter! I'll be happy to adopt you because I enjoy working with others – especially to help them become a better editor on Wikipedia!

Take a look at my edit history; I usually work at Articles for Deletion, Articles for Creation, in new page patrolling, and in vandalism-fighting. I have been an editor on Wikipedia for a year, and have made over 15,000 edits to the encyclopedia.

I'm usually available on Wikipedia from 0:00 - 5:00 and occasionally from 12:00-16:00 (all times UTC). I travel frequently, usually on business trips around the world. I'm so young, yet so busy.

If I adopt you, I promise I will provide you with the most friendly, easy, and convenient adoption service through my adoption school. But if you don't think I am the right adopter for you, that's okay – you have no obligation to accept, and I won't be in the least bit offended if you don't. If you think I am the right adopter for you, please let me know – then we shall get started! →Bmusician 01:56, 12 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Bmusician! I am willing to accept your adoption. (I'm a transferee from Yasht101, who's planning to retire!) I believe you have the things that a good adoptor has. You have the friendliest, easiest and most convenient way of adopting - a thing adoptees might look for for an adoptor. So how's the adoption school going on? Jedd Raynier (talk) (contributions) is really sad for a leaving Wikipedian. 10:51, 12 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. Speaking of the manner of your adoption school, i.e. "friendly, easy, and convenient", it's like the service of the LRT (in the Philippines):"friendly, easy, convenient, and safe" . LOL :-)

Welcome to Bmusician's adoption school!

Welcome!

You are now a student at my adoption school. Your official adoption page is located at User:Bmusician/Adoption/Jedd Raynier.

In your first assignment (which I have already assigned to you) you will learn about the five pillars. Read the lesson carefully. After you're done reading the lesson, you will take a test about the lesson. You must answer all of the questions in the test adequately in order to move on to the next assignment.

After you've completed all required assignments, you will then take a final examination. If you pass the examination, you are permitted to either continue to study at the adoption school, or "graduate" from the school. (We'll talk about that when that time actually comes.) If you fail, however, you must stay at the adoption school until you finally pass an exam. Please note that you may leave the school at any time without graduating, but that means that you won't be awarded the "special barnstar" I give to my graduate students.

That's it; again I welcome you to my adoption school! Please leave me a message on my talk page if you have any questions regarding the school. →Bmusician 12:28, 12 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

An award for you! + comments left re. your answers

Award of First Success
Congratulations on completing your first adoption assignment. There are still many more assignments in which you'll have to complete, so keep working hard! →Bmusician 02:30, 14 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jedd. Your answers were correct, however, some of the humor you used wasn't necessary because it could have violated established WP policy. Read my comments to some of your answers. I'll give you the next assignment tomorrow Bmusician 02:30, 14 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
