WVRI (90.9 FM) is a yet-to-broadcast religious-formatted non-commercial educational broadcast radio station licensed to Clifton Forge, Virginia, serving Alleghany County, Virginia. Originally owned and operated by Ron Elmore Ministries, Inc., the construction permit and station license were sold to Liberty University in October 2009, and will become a satellite broadcasting tower for their flagship WRVL-FM station [1].

History

This station received its original construction permit from the Federal Communications Commission on May 23, 2008.[2] The new station was assigned the call letters KCFF by the FCC on February 6, 2009.[3] This assignment, possibly by accident, makes KCFF the only "K" lettered call sign in the Commonwealth of Virginia and one of a handful east of the Mississippi. On October 15, 2009, KCFF became WVRI.
