There are more than 40 schools in Puliangudi including RC Primary and RC High School.
People of various religions living here happily and friendly. It also has Churches and Temples,such a Arulmigu Balasubramania Swamy Temple , RC Church , CSI church and Mosques too.

As of 2001 India census,[1] Puliyangudi had a population of 60,142. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Puliyangudi has an average literacy rate of 64%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 73%, and female literacy is 54%. In Puliyangudi, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.
