The route had their origins from London Country South West, as the route used to go from Crawley to West Croydon. The route was only confirmed to have histories started since 21 April 2001, when Connex won the route and the route was cut back between Redhill and Crawley. The route uses Dennis Dart SLF, however on 20 August 2003, Connex lost the contract to Metrobus and double decker operation started in 2 September 2006.

London Buses route 405 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, United Kingdom. The service is currently contracted to Metrobus.

History

The route had their origins from London Country South West, as the route used to go from Crawley to West Croydon. The route was only confirmed to have histories started since 21 April 2001, when Connex won the route and the route was cut back between Redhill and Crawley. The route uses Dennis Dart SLF, however on 20 August 2003, Connex lost the contract to Metrobus and double decker operation started in 2 September 2006.
