The Los Angeles Lightning is a professional basketball team in the Independent Basketball Association. The Lightning are owned by Mark Harwell, an entertainment industry executive. Their home games are played in the Gilbert Sports Arena on the campus of California Lutheran University [1]. The Los Angeles Lightning feature seven former NBA Players including, Lamond Murray, Bryon Russell, Darrick Martin, Toby Bailey, Fred Vinson, Juaquin Hawkins [1] and Tyus Edney. Los Angeles Lightning player, Fred Vinson is an assistant coach with the NBA's New Orleans Hornets.[2] The Lightning captured the International Basketball League title in their second season, going 18-5 in 2009. They claimed the IBA regular-season title in 2012 with a 12-2 record thanks to spectacular play from Trayvon Lathan (26 ppg), Chris Ayer (21 ppg, 12.6 rpg) and Billy Knight (20 ppg, 48.5% on 3-pointers).
