Just Dance 2 is a music game developed and published by Ubisoft Paris for the Wii. It is the sequel to Just Dance. It was released in North America on October 12, 2010 & in Australia and Europe on October 14, 2010. The Best Buy Edition was released in North America on November 21, 2010. There are 44 new tracks and new modes. A sequel, Just Dance 3, was released in October 2011.

Gameplay

The concept of the game is the same as the original Just Dance. Requiring only one Wii Remote per player, up to four people can play at a time, as they follow on-screen choreographed moves set to classic dance tracks. There are four new dance modes. In "Just Dance Mode", players can get together and dance for as long as they want, just for the fun of it. Other options include "Non-Stop Shuffle" for a non-stopping gameplay, and "Medleys", in which short pieces of 5 songs are mixed.

The second new mode, "Duets" allows players to dance together, and in the process forces them to pay more attention to the players around them instead of simply following on-screen prompts.

"Dance Battle Mode" is a team mode that features up to 8-player support. The individual scores are the basis of the overall team scores.

Lastly is "Just Sweat Mode", which is an exercise mode that allows players to measure the energy they expend while dancing as well as set objectives to be met during their dance sessions.

Reception

The reviews for Just Dance 2 are mixed to positive. As of March 2012,, the game received a reviewer score of 74 on Metacritic and 77 on Gamerankings.com as well as an average user rating of 6.6 on Metacritic.

IGN UK praised the game for being 'Excellently choreographed, amusingly varied and much better-presented than the original...' and gave it an 8 out of 10, in stark contrast to the score of 2 out of 10 given to the original.

Official Nintendo Magazine UK gave the game a 72%, saying that 'There's nothing sophisticated under the hood,' but praised the choreography, calling it 'great fun' and the music selection 'brilliant.'

Sales

Just Dance 2 has been a huge commercial success for Ubisoft, which has sold 6 million copies worldwide and has sold over 2 million copies in just the United States alone.

Just Dance Summer Party

Just Dance Summer Party (Just Dance 2: Extra Songs in Europe) is a game that features all of the DLC and Best Buy exclusive songs (except for "It's Not Unusual", "Crazy Christmas", "Spice Up Your Life", "Come on Eileen", and "Should I Stay or Should I Go"). It was released on July 17, 2011 in Europe and July 19, 2011 in North America.

• Dance on Broadway

A spin-off, featuring a selection of 20 songs from Broadway musicals, has been released. Some songs included are: "I Just Can't Wait to Be King" from The Lion King, "Bend and Snap" from Legally Blonde, and "Fame" from Fame.

• Just Dance

The first of the Just Dance series, released in November 2009, featuring 32 tracks from "Who Let The Dogs Out" to Katy Perry's hit "Hot 'n Cold".

• Just Dance 3

The third installment to the Just Dance trilogy. It includes over 40 tracks featuring Katy Perry, Gwen Stefani, Kiss, Duck Sauce, and The Black Eyed Peas. It also supports downloadable content via WiiWare. Just Dance 3 was released in October 2011.

The newest Just Dance game in the Just Dance collection successfully announced by Ubisoft, and Flo Rida in Los Angeles. It will include over 40 tracks featuring Carly Rae Jepsen, P!nk, The B-52's, Maroon 5 featuring Christina Aguilera, Rihanna, and many more!

• Just Dance Kids

Released in November 2010, it was created with an emphasis on popular kids' songs. It features 40 tracks from various artists, including Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez & The Scene, and Demi Lovato.

• Just Dance Kids 2

The sequel to the world's most popular game for kids. It features over 40 tracks from various classic kids songs, songs from movies including Shrek 2, Gnomeo and Juliet, Despicable Me, Tangled, etc. and current pop hits including Selena Gomez & The Scene, Ashley Tisdale, and Bruno Mars.

• Michael Jackson The Experience

Another spin-off of the Just Dance series, featuring 26 songs and full dance choreography from Michael Jackson. It was released on November 23, 2010.

• ABBA: You Can Dance

Another spin-off of the Just Dance series, featuring 26 ABBA songs. It was released on November 15, 2011 in North America, and November 25, 2011 in Europe.

• The Black Eyed Peas Experience

Yet another spin-off of the Just Dance series, the game features more than 20 tracks from The Black Eyed Peas and was released on November 8, 2011 (US).

• Just Dance Wii

The Japanese version of Just Dance published and edited by Nintendo but developed by Ubisoft Paris, featuring 17 J-Pop songs and 11 songs from previous Just Dance titles. Just Dance Wii features hits from Exile, KARA, and AKB48.

• Just Dance: Best Of

"Just Dance: Best Of" includes Ubisoft's favorite songs from previous titles: "Just Dance", "Just Dance 2", "Just Dance Summer Party", & "Just Dance 3". It includes two exclusive songs: Airplanes by B.o.B featuring Hayley Williams, and Only Girl (In the World) by Rihanna.

Just Dance: Disney Party

"Just Dance: Disney Party" is an upcoming spin-off to the "Just Dance" series that will be released on October 2012 in North America. It will include songs from classic Disney movies, and current pop tracks from The Disney Channel.
