Biography
Mahmoud was born in 1962 in Ain Shams, a suburb of Cairo, Egypt. She went to high school in Egypt and married her cousin Mohamed Morsi in 1979, and traveled with him to the United States. Mahmoud and Morsi have four boys and one girl.
She worked at the Islamic Center in California.
Mahmoud joined the Muslim Brotherhood in the United States, where she concentrated her role in charity work, especially in the education field.
In her first interview with the media, she rejected "the first lady" title and believes that the president's wife should not interfere in politics like her predecessors Suzanne Mubarak and Jihan Sadat.[1]
