Palin is a hillstation town located in the Kurung Kumey district of Arunachal Pradesh. It is the largest town in the district. It is inhabited by Nyishi tribe of Arunachal Pradesh. It is located at Latitude 28.15285, Longitude 94.12288. It has a population of around 20,000 (2011 census).
Geography
Palin is located at 27°04′26″N 93°36′52″E / 27.07380043091176°N 93.614501953125°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 440 metres (1443 feet).

Palin falls within 15' to 20' temperature zone often the temperature falls to 5 to 7 degree in winter.The regions is very cold during winter and very hot during summer.Rainfall is very high due to very hilly and high geographical terrain.Most of time it is coverred by clouds.The area is windy in nature.

Culture
People
Palin and its adjoining areas are mainly populated by people of the Nyishi tribe.
Palin Religious Places
Holy Rosary church: Consecrated by the Bishop of Itanagar, this christian catholic chrch reflects the extensive Christian influence and provides good views of Palin and the surrounding countryside.[2]
Places of Interest
Holy Rosay Catholic Churh is one of largest Catholic Church in the state.[3] [4] It is located at the hilltop in the town.
Palin river one of the tributaries of River Subansiri flows through this town .The river ideal for river rafting,fishing and for picnics.
From here tourist places like Ziro, Parshuram Kund(in Lohit), Malinithan(in Siang), Bhishmak Nagar (in Dibang Valley) are also easily accessible by roads.
Festivals
Nyokum, an agricultural festival of the Nyishis, is the main festival celebrated in the town. Beside Nyokum, Christmas,Diwali and Dusherra are also celebrated with great pomp and Joy.
Demographics
As of 2011[update] India census,[5] Palinr had a population of 11251. The Nyishis are the indegenious inhabitants of the area.
Communication
Palin is situated at mid-northern part of Arunachal Pradesh. The District Highway connect Palin to the other part of Arunachal and India. Regular Bus and Tata sumo services are available form Itanagar,Ziro etc.
