Annapurna International School of Film and Media is evolving as one of the largest film schools of India. It's India’s first private, non-profit media school. The institute was founded by the Akkineni family, including Akkineni Nagarjuna and Akkineni Nageswara Rao. AISFM is located in Hyderabad, India.

AISFM offers courses in acting, directing, cinematography, editing, writing and producing. The Academic Advisory Board for the school includes filmmakers, actors and directors such as Farah Khan, Karan Johar, Hema Malini, Mani Ratnam, Kamal Haasan, Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi and Aparna Sen

AISFM is on the grounds of a Annapurna Studio. Spread across 22 Acres, Annapurna Studios showcases itself as a technically advanced and integrated film & media hub.

About Annapurna Studios

The Indian film industry is estimated to grow from Rs 83 billion to Rs 132 billion by 2015, according to a KPMG-FICCI report. In its past avatar, the studio has produced 40 motion pictures and other infomercials and television serials.The post-production facilities include state-of-the-art editing, dubbing, animation, computer graphics (CG), digital interface and sound mixing rooms, so-much-so, a film could be made right from the concept to the release stage without the need for going out of the studio.

Academics

On 20th June 2012, Annapurna International School of Film and Media (AISFM) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University, to provide India's first government-recognized, full-time degree courses in filmmaking. The MoU is for a period of four years.[2]
