CJEO-DT (branded on-air as Omni Alberta and alternately known as Omni Edmonton) is a multicultural television station in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada that is part of the Omni Television system. It broadcasts a high-definition digital signal on UHF channel 44 (or virtual channel 56.1 via PSIP) from a transmitter near Yellowhead Highway/Highway 16A.

Owned by Rogers Media, it is sister to Citytv owned-and-operated station CKEM-DT and both share studios located at Enterprise Square on Jasper Avenue Northwest in Downtown Edmonton. This station can also be seen on Shaw Cable channel 11 and in high definition on digital channel 213. It is not currently carried by Bell TV or Shaw Direct.

The station was licensed by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission on June 8, 2007[1], and it launched on September 15, 2008. The station was originally assigned the call sign CHXE by Industry Canada, but this was changed to CJEO in February 2008.[2]

Newscasts

Omni Alberta produces three nightly television newscasts aimed at the Cantonese, Mandarin, and South Asian communities across the province. While there are news gathering teams in both Edmonton and Calgary, the production of the newscasts themselves are done out of the Citytv/Omni studios in Downtown Edmonton.

  • Omni News: Mandarin Edition (Weekdays 5:00pm)
    • Thomas Deng
  • Omni News: South Asian Edition (Weeknights 8:00pm)
    • Sudha Krishnan
  • Omni News: Cantonese Edition (Weeknights 9:00pm)
    • Kit Koon
