Terry McFlynn (born 27 March 1981) is a football (soccer) player from Swatragh, Northern Ireland. He currently plays as a central midfielder for the Australian A-League team Sydney FC.

McFlynn began his footballing career in England as an apprentice at Queens Park Rangers in 1996. McFlynn made only two first-team appearances in his five-year stay at the club - his first-team debut was made on 28 April 2001.

McFlynn is a former captain of the Northern Ireland under-21 team, and has also played at all junior levels for Northern Ireland, including U23s. He later played for non-league outfits Woking F.C., Margate FC and Morecambe FC. He left Morecambe for Sydney in 2005 in a free transfer deal.

In his first season with Sydney FC, McFlynn has proved to be a strong and disciplined player, which has gained him praise as an integral midfielder for the club. He scored a spectacular goal in round 5 of the innaugural A-League season against the Queensland Roar in which he lobbed the Queensland goalkeeper, Tom Willis, from 30 yards out to round off a 3-1 victory to Sydney FC.

McFlynn has been described by former Socceroo and Blackburn premiership winner Robbie Slater, as "the greatest Irish player since Roy Keane". It remains a mystery as to why he has not yet been capped for Northern Ireland, as some football experts believe he could be the player to revive their international fortunes
