As of May 2010, the US Department of Transportation approved Hellenic Imperial's application for rights to fly scheduled and charter flights to the United States of America from Greece, which the airline had applied for in October 2009.[14][15] The approval allows the carrier to begin scheduled services to and from New York's John F. Phase two will include flights to the Far East and Australia.[10]
