Neil Marchington is a Deschutes County deputy sheriff in Bend, Oregon.^[1] He is an amateur biologist and a member of Western Cave Conservancy, a cave conservancy trust. He helped with the discovery of the new Trogloraptoridae biological family in two caves south of Grants Pass.^[2] The species Trogloraptor marchingtoni is named after him.^[1]
