Biriyani is an upcoming Indian Tamil film written and directed by Venkat Prabhu.[1][2] It will feature Karthi and Richa Gangopadhyay in the lead roles.

The film's shooting starts from 14th July.[3] Yuvan Shankar Raja tunes the tracks for this film, while Sakthi Saravanan handles July Cinematography, Stunts performed by Silva and editing by Praveen K. L..[4]
The production team approached Samantha to do the heroine role. Meanwhile, Illeana and Parineeti Chopra are also on the list.[5] Richa Gangopadhyay has been in talks with Venkat Prabhu for the film.[6] Venkat Prabhu finalized her as the leading lady and she is expected to join the team in August.[7] Director Venkat Prabhu has roped in the newly married couple Sneha and Prasanna for this film.[8]

The film is expected to be released on 31 December 2012.[9]
