Yeedle Werdyger (b. 1971) is an American Hasidic Jewish singer. He is the son of the Orthodox Jewish super star Mordechai Ben David and grandson of renown Cantor David Werdyger .

Yeedle (Yiddish; יידל ) is a Yiddish nickname for the Hebrew name Yehudah (Heb. יהודה / יהודא )

Genre

Yeedle's song and music may be considered Contemporary Chassidic.

The music used in his first two albums were generically similar to the Chassidic performers of the early nineties with noticable electric guitar interludes.

With his third album Shiru Lamelech, Yeedle placed emphasis on using acoustic guitar in a more country music and kumzitz fashion.

Keeping up with technology Yeedle released his fith album Lev Echad with much innovation.The music genre was more funk with compositions by Rabbi Akiva Homnick, Aharon Razel and Yeedle cowriting with Eli Laufer. Sound and digital effects on this album were engineered by Eli Leshinsky.

Using Lenticular printing, the CD cover of Lev Echad showed Chassidic men dancing on a colourful background. Parralel to the music CD, Yeedle released the music tracks with visual video animation depicting himself singing the albums songs, the animation was created by artist Peretz Schmukler.

Yeedle assisted in the production of HD video and song "Unity For Justice" performed by MBD together with Avraham Fried and forty famous Jewish singers. This song was created and performed in solidarity with Sholom Rubashkin and in protest of alleged Federal injustice to him in his widely publicized case in the USA.

Family

As mentioned, Yeedle is the son of Mordechai Ben David and Grandson of David Werdyger. His uncle Mendy , is also a singer and owner of the Jewish record label Aderet Records and Music retail store Mostly Music. His cousin Yisroel Werdyger (Son of Mendy) and brother in law Mendy Wald are both popular Orthodox Jewish singers. All family members share a good personal relationship and cooperate in the music industry sharing experience and performing together on stage and in joint albums.
