The Broken Dimanche Press (BDP) is international publisher founded by John Holten and Lisa Madsen Simenstad in 2008 in Berlin. It is publishes experimental literature and contemporary art. It is located in Büro BDP in Neukölln, Berlin.

History

The name of The Broken Dimanche Press was inspired by Yves Klein's Dimanche-Le Journal d’un Seul Jour, a one-day newspaper that he published and distributed on newsstands like a normal newspaper.[1] Because the BDP is supposed to be European John Holten and Lisa Madsen Simenstad thought it would be nice to have two different languages in the name. They mixed Anglo French a bit and the Germans as well.[2]
