Dan Ashworth is an English former professional footballer, who began his career at Norwich City. Ashworth continued to be involved with football after retiring as a player, and was appointed the sporting and technical director of West Bromwich Albion in December 2007. On 19 September 2012, Ashworth was appointed as the FA director of elite development.
Ashworth was the second West Brom official to leave the Hawthorns for the FA in the space of four months following Roy Hodgson's appointment to England manager.
He is based at the FA's new National Football Centre at St George's Park and joins the organisation following ex-England defender Gareth Southgate's departure from the role in July.
