Tanya Maria Geritsidou ( Τάνυα Μαρία Γεριτσίδου) (1978-) (nom de plume Tantz Aerine) is a Greek psychopedagogue, author, publisher and activist. She has high activity in sociopolitical action and invests in the cultivation of the Humanitarian and philhellenic spirit through legal action of international range, literature and scripts as well as sequential art works.

Biography

She was born in Montreal Canada and grew up in Athens, Greece since the age of four. Her mother is Olga G. Yeritsidou who raised her with a strong sense of social responsibility, freedom and independence, as well as the value of a National and sociopolitical identity as a means to self actualization, but also a guarantee of valuing the global heritage and civilization. She has studies in psychology and education with a focus on the effect of fear in awareness, critical thought and memory. Also, along with her mother she has contributed to the development of educational methods for the reversal of learning difficulties and the maximization of intelligence and motivation.

On these matters she has written language learning textbooks, grammar textbooks and composition textbooks.[1] As a psychopedagogue she has used art therapy principles and role playing as well as other methods of fear elimination and bolstering of confidence, creating award winning theatrical plays and numbers for children and adolescents. She has also designed a prototype composite class of non-similar children (in age and educational levels) and the method of introducing new learning objectives to it, with the goal of preparing the individual for a healthy and efficient inclusion of the individual in society and the cultivation of the capacity to adjust while developing high intelligence and mental age maturation, according to the principles of Vygotsky ’s ZPD, along with the reversal of inhibitions in intelligence developed initially by her mother.

She is also a publisher owning the small press publishing house MindPower.

Author work

Aside her educational author work, she has written a series of literature works which have been characterized by critics as innovative and equal to those of the leaders in each genre. Specifically she has written the fantasy trilogy “The Art of Veiling”, the novel “Wood to Glass” and several short stories and vignettes.[2] She has also written scripts for short films and theatrical plays awarded for their innovative nature since being bilingual can be fully understood by speakers of only one of either languages.

Activism

Following and supporting the activism of her mother she was obligated to acquire basic legal knowledge on local and international law, via self teaching and the methodology of scientific research as well as in vivo practice. In this research she discovered the capacity for average Citizens to file complaints to the ICC at the Hague when these crimes are committed by the citizens’ governments and are large scale.[3] In October 2011, with her mother they filed a complaint with the ICC[4], against the G. A. Papandreou governments, reporting with substantiation crimes against humanity and genocide during times of peace at the expense of the Greek People, becoming along with her mother the first Greek Citizens and European non-ranked citizens to file against the Memorandum and any related policy. This action was received very positively and supported by the Greek People and the Greeks of the Diaspora, but was also fought against by the political circles in GreeceCite error: A <ref> tag is missing the closing </ref> (see the help page).</ref>. The result of this action was that the prosecutor at the ICC opened a permanent file for the gathering of additional evidence stating that when the evidence shows a full scale impact to the sum of the Greek People then the ICC will intervene, validating the admissibility of this move.[5] Since, there have been two additional complaints to the ICC by other Greek Citizens[6] [7]. Aside legal activism, she also is attempting to spread the modern Greek spirit and culture but to also revive and teach the up to now unknown and forgotten to the international public Greek modern history and especially the actions of the Greeks during WWII, via the creation of webcomics and accompanying informative articles.
